I have rekindled an old blog -- "Mountain Standard" -- over at blogspot.
It is an "Albuquerque Word Repository (Feat. Still Life, Bird-Life, Death, Dog-Bears, Voices, Landforms, Wolves, Mirages, Winds That May Exist, Winds That Don't Exist, Red Spires, Yellow Dirt, Black Flags, Truck Stops, Tacos, Dust)". I plan to upload writing excerpts and musings on a semi-regular basis. It is a dusty plan with obscure motive, which is more than could be said of my other blog attempts. My goal was to publish a book or to become an assistant professor of English by the time I was 40. The former is a work in progress. As for the latter, I've just been offered a position at UNM-Valencia as assistant professor of English. After a couple decades of slogging through universities and low-paying odd jobs, this is an incredible relief.
This year has been crazy. Like busy. Teaching three classes at UNM-Valencia, eating quinoa, bribing roadrunners, enduring 75 degree winter weather.

Thanks to WSR! Also: thanks to Jacinda Townsend, author of Saint Monkey, for selecting my story out of a pool of five finalists. I am relieved, a bit confused, and very excited to have won a thing.
Justin Fuguers Cove is currently writing and recording a new EP, Gulf of Paria. It will be comprised of 7-25 songs.
The EP will feature some danceable, Caribbean influenced tracks, pop elements, folky stuff, and maybe a few blast beats for good measure. It will available on bandcamp, spotify, i-tunes, etc. as well as through links on this website. Here I am, making words. But how long will it last? Here's a picture of some oranges:
